Pianist Alon Goldstein returns to the Distinguished Artists Series after his historic performance and collaboration with cellist Amit Peled, which was attended by over 500 people in – this time as a soloist in a magnificent program of music by Bach (Italian concerto), Schubert (wanderer fantasy), Wagner (liszt (libestod), Debussy (island of joy), and Ginastera (Argentinean dances).

Alon Goldstein is one of the most original and sensitive pianists of his generation, admired for his musical intelligence, dynamic personality, artistic vision and innovative programming. He has played with the Israel, London, Radio France, and Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestras as well as the Philadelphia, San Francisco, Baltimore, St. Louis, Dallas, Houston, and Vancouver symphonies under such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Herbert Blomstedt, Vladimir Jurowski, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Leon Fleisher, Peter Oundjian, Yoel Levi and others.

He opened the 2014-15 season with a recital tour in South America including concerts at the Philharmonic societies of Lima, Arequipa (Peru) and Valparaiso (Chile) among others. He also opened the season of the Harrisburg Symphony as well as the Tel Aviv Soloists, one of the concerts being broadcast live over the internet worldwide. Other highlights of the 2014-15 season include a recital tour in Spain, performing in Madrid, A Coruña and Zaragoza’s “Cycle of Grand Soloists”; a return to the Baltimore Symphony under Günther Herbig; debut with the New Jersey Symphony under Michael Stern and concerts with the Ars Viva Orchestra Chicago, the “George Enescu” Philharmonic in Bucharest etc.

In 2013, Mr. Goldstein recorded Mendelssohn Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 with the Israel Chamber Orchestra conducted by Yoav Talmi. This collaboration scored a major success on a 17-concert Latin American tour that included concerts in Teatro Colon, Palacio des Bellas Artes and Teatro Nacional. In the spring of 2014 another CD of Alon was released featuring Dvorak Trios with his Tempest Trio for the Naxos Label. Alon has performed at the Gilmore, Santa Fe, Tanglewood, Ravinia, Marlboro, Seattle, Verbier, Prussia Cove and Jerusalem music festivals.
